Wild Roads Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 9, 2026
Wild Roads Photo Intelligence helps wildlife and nature photographers find, evaluate, and plan field opportunities. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
Information We Use
- Search area and location context: If you allow location access, Wild Roads may use your approximate location to show nearby opportunities. You can also enter a city, ZIP code, state, region, or trip area instead.
- Favorites, watchlists, and private hotspots: The app may store saved hotspots, private hotspot names, coordinates, field notes, species tags, alert preferences, and shot-planning details you enter.
- Usage preferences: The app may store home area, selected radius, recent searches, recent views, and similar settings to make recommendations more relevant.
- Device and technical information: We may receive basic technical logs needed to operate, debug, and secure the service.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide search, discovery, briefing, private hotspot, alert, weather, migration, tide, and shot-planning features. Location and private hotspot data are used to personalize your experience and are not intended for public discovery.
Private Hotspots
Private hotspots are designed to be visible only to you. We do not publish private hotspot names, notes, or coordinates in public discovery results. You should still avoid entering sensitive information you do not want stored.
Third-Party Data Sources
Wild Roads uses external data sources such as weather, hydrology, tide, migration, and observation services to create photography guidance. Requests to those services may involve location coordinates or regional context needed to retrieve relevant conditions.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate the app, process data, host infrastructure, provide maps, deliver notifications, or diagnose issues.
Data Retention
We keep information as long as needed to provide the app, maintain safety and reliability, comply with legal obligations, and improve the service. You may request deletion of account-associated personal data by contacting support.
Children
Wild Roads is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information. No system is completely secure, so field notes and private hotspot details should be entered with care.
Changes
We may update this policy as Wild Roads evolves. The latest version will be posted on this page.
